Stohn concerns itself with the environment in many ways. Quarries in any country or area that has certification for sound environmental practice are fully certified. Examples of this are European quarries where European standards for Environmental Certification such as SGS are fully in place and quarries regularly inspected.
The production process for natural stone materials is more environmentally sound than that of reformed materials or “fake stone”. Reformed materials use chemicals and procedures not present in the creation of natural stone products. Ceramic and Porcelain tiles are even worse offenders and imported ceramic tiles are one of the highest contributors of total pollution in the UK.
Natural stone is repairable after years of damage and so does not have to be "thrown away".
